- Latest Work – October 2026
Another organic and dynamic artwork. This one is 16×40 and 1.5 inches deep, 12 oz stretched canvas on custom built stretcher bars. I layered this first with some base colors: a pale greenish-blue, paynes grey and an indian yellow. Then I poured some vivid cooler (mostly) hues over the top: dark greenish-blue, manganese blue phthalo, dark burnt orange and a pale titanate yellow. The paints were just the right consistency and transparency to keep ribbons of color distinct all the while creating lots of organic cells from the interplay of the layers.

How might it look on a wall?

- Blue Series – October 2026

I completed this acrylic ink artwork in September 2026. It’s now on display at the Open Studios 2026 Tour preview exhibit at the Canyon Galley, Boulder Public Library (on Canyon Road, Boulder).
Acrylic ink is highly pigmented, low viscosity paint and when watered down it behaves much like watercolor. For this artwork, I placed each ribbon of color separately using a wet-on-wet technique, let it dry and then repeated the process. While this method is still very much fluid art it allows for much more intentionality.
